Isabel is a British-Spanish journalist based in Mexico City. She joined Reuters in 2022 as part of the Latin America news hub, regularly interviewing business leaders and reporting on the region's political intrigues.

Prior to joining Reuters, Isabel worked as a Senior Reporter at Sifted, the Financial Times' sister publication. During that time, she was shortlisted for the 2021 Tech Journalist of the Year in recognition of her investigative coverage of European tech. She began her career covering the nascent world of crypto, prompting her to adopt the broader fintech beat.

She completed her Bachelor's in History and War Studies from King’s College London, with her thesis on the IRA's financing later published in a top academic journal. She went on to complete a Master of Philosophy at Oxford University in Development. Her Master’s thesis focused on the reintegration of Colombia's female ex-combatants, who she spent time interviewing in 2017. As a student, she was also selected to work on a landmark report on the future of media, in conjunction with the European Broadcasting Union.

Outside of work, Isabel can be found on the hunt for the best tacos in town, attempting to learn salsa dancing, and dragging herself to bootcamp workouts.
